Elven

Excerpts from Chapter 22 of Deadly Secrets......
“Great people of Elven and those from lands
beyond, the army of Armorica is deeply indebted to your
generosity and hospitality. U have shelter us from the
storm of the century. There are not enough words to
express the gratitude I feel toward U, the great people
of Armorica.”
Condescendingly glancing at Merlin, the young
man added, “Already, though, I have been asked,
by some, to ask for more. With a good conscience,
though, I cannot bring myself to do this.
“Who am I to say that U must make such sacrifices.
Especially for someone that is not even a knight let
alone a king?
“Yes! Yes! I know that many of U have already
heard who some of the elders say I am. But truly,
I cannot tell U that, for certain. Personally, I do not
even care any longer.
“I never knew who my true father was. That is
no longer important to me. What is important, though, is never tolerating the tyranny from men
like Cronus.
“I do not ask U to join me now in this raise of
arms to secure my kingship or any man’s kingship.
Instead, I ask U to stand strong with me and ensure
your own freedom.
“Hear me before U make a hasty choice, I have
seen the enemy,” echoed the young warrior–king.
Falling quiet as they stared at him spellbound,
the masses listened to his simple words. Surging
with emotions, Darian took a deep breath. Looking
at the silent crowd, only some faces seemed familiar;
all of them hung on every word he said, though.
Slightly surprised, suddenly, Darian found the solemn
eyes of Elroy de St. Gelvin upon him. Though publicly humiliated by Sabrina earlier that year, the young noble count,
now, stood before Darian, paying homage to the young
warrior–king. With a slight reassuring smile and a nod of
condolence, the young nobleman patiently waited for
his lord to finish.
