Traveling on the road leading to the Lullingstone Villa Museum, one will see the stone truss bridge to the left.
When water levels were higher, estate owners would have used the Darent River to transport their produce to large markets like those in nearby London.
Once inside the the Lullingstone Villa Museum, the remanence of a Roman residence can be seen. The stone skeleton of the structure gives a general layout of the villa.
During the estate's heyday, this mosaic on the floor of the dining room would have incited comments and praises from visiting guests.
The walls of the villa were not less decorated. What can be seen here is the remake of a Roman mural. It reveals the inner layers of the villa's wall.
All of the artisan skills shown above and more would have been incorporated in the construction of a villa that would have appeared much like this model on displayed in the Lullingstone Villa Museum.
