Stonehenge is the greatest enigma in Britain and maybe arguably in all of Europe.

Though dwarfed by their sheer size, these stones have stood as peers with the Egyptian pyramids since the time of antiquity.

 

 

 

 

Though the surrounding lands may seem ordinary, it is highly doubtful that anyone can stand before the stones and not wonder two things.

How were the stones stacked on top of each other?

And,why was such an awe-inspiring feat done in the first place?

 

 

 

Equally doubtful is that someone will present an answer that would be universally accepted. Still, this does nothing to take away the enchantment of this grand site.

 

 

 

 

 

 

With little effort from a bird's-eye view, one looking west would see South Cadbury or as some say Camelot.
